David Lawhorn provides Acquisition/Dispositions, Asset Management and Advisory services for investors and institutional clients in the multifamily sector. In his 35 years in the real estate industry David has developed a solid history in Mergers and Acquisitions, Property Management and Institutional and Investment Brokerage.
Mr. Lawhorn joined Investment Realty Company in 1998 and has focused on servicing his client relationships in San Antonio and south central Texas markets. For the past 12 years David has also been associated with the Balthrope Group of Institutional Property Advisors (IPA) as a team member assisting them with over two billion in institutional multifamily sales throughout the south central Texas marketplace.
While attending the University of Houston, David began his working career in the housewares industry operating a local distributorship in the Houston area. He later worked for a housewares supplier in Dallas. He culminated his retail career in Milwaukee as Vice President of Business Development in the specialty division of Ekco Housewares, at the time, the largest manufacturer of housewares in the world.
Mr. Lawhorn began his real estate career in 1979 with Century Capital Corp., a commercial private equity firm and held the position of Project Vice President responsible for the successful turnaround of distressed office buildings in five cities.
From 1982 to 1985, David held the positon of VP of Marketing for Steinmetz & Associates; a San Antonio based Development Company where he was responsible for the management, marketing and leasing of resort, multifamily and commercial properties.
In 1985, he founded Alliance Management Corp., an investment and property management firm and was instrumental in leading the firm through transition, growth and expansion as Compass Alliance Management, Corrigan Real Estate Services and Corrigan-Fein Real Estate Services. During his 14 years with the firm, he held positions of EVP/Commercial, President and EVP/COO; with responsibility for the management and brokerage of commercial and multifamily activities that totaled over two billion in assets and sales.
